GoldenGate genotyping assays are a cost effective way to generate genotypes from small to moderate pools of custom snp markers in very large collections of samples. Cost vary significantly depending on both snp and sample scale and range from $0.42 per genotype to less than $0.04 per gt. Please call for specific project pricing.
Custom designed snp pools, called OPA’s are only synthesized in discreet “plex” levels. The smallest pool possible contains 96 snps. The next scale contains 384 snps, then 768, 1152 and finally 1536. The 1536 plex OPA contains the maximum number of snps that can be incorporated in a single pool, however, for projects requiring larger numbers of snps any number of additional OPA’s, each containing up to 1536 snps, can be synthesized.
Custom OPA’s can be designed for any organism for which adequate genomic information is available. We’ve successfully designed OPA’s for Arabidopsis, Mouse, Barley, Cassava and Maize as well as Human. Illumina provides complete support for the design of custom OPA’s.
